Hello all,
I just wanted to say that I am psyched that today marks my one year anniversary of registering on the site...which also marks the beginning of "Duality".
Man, I have to get my ass in gear to finish that sucker!
Many of you know that the story has been pretty cathartic for me, a safe place to deposit my day to day frustration as well as my creativity and life experiences.
I just wanted to say thank you and send cyberhugs to those of you who read my stuff and enjoy it. You know who you are!

@razorblade Kiss: it makes me smile when people say they joined for "Duality". Thank you. Your comments propel me forward. I think I know how I will end it; but there are so many ways to get there and so much ground to cover. I love having an audience but I also love the neverending supply of great fic from other writers. My sleazy sweet tooth cannot be assuaged by the latest offering from "Blaze" at Borders.
...and yes, that pic is me with a pair of very special drumsticks.
@mistress Angie: thank you so much for having this board. I love being here. I.just wish I had more time to write than I do!

@razorblade Kiss: the sticks I am holding are not Joey's. The were given to me by the late, great Ingo Schwichtenberg of Helloween when I was 15.
The story that made me join was nola's "Dirty Little Things" in the Stone Sour section. Obviously, it was very hot but it made me feel that there was a place and a crowd that would appreciate what I had done for years. Actually, I had suffered a dry spell ... my last two epics were (started) written in 2002 and 2005. I still work on them when I can but am reluctant to post because it is doubtful anyone remembers Helloween, Kingdom Come, Warrant and Edguy (yeah, all in one story, I kid you not) or has sexual fantasies about Judas Priest (but it gets spiced up with the addition of Avenged Sevenfold in the second half, so you never know). People would not believe who I have written about...starting with ASIA and ending with Panic! At The Disco. As hot as the musicians are, they are vessels to channel emotions into and the strife and dire circumstances I put them through are metaphors for things I am/have felt. Hey...it's cheaper than therapy.
I love coming here, too. It can be a quiet place to drink your coffee and tea or a place to hit your "zone" with a beer as you make that keyboard sing (21+, kiddos). I also like taking a day off from work and just lurking here, downing diet soda and nachos while I read and chat. I have met some very cool people here. It would be so cool if there were local book clubs like this.
And thank you for saying I'm pretty.

@razorblade Kiss: Helloween is a German power metal band still going strong in Europe but I am not surprised that no one remembers their original drummer (or them...due to a marketing issue their stuff is hard to come by in America). He threw himself infront of a train in 1995. He had been unsuccessfully coping with schizophrenia.
They shot to fame in 1988 and kinda fizzled out.

Probably like, a half a year. But i was stalking Duality for ages before that.
